THE ASK
Redesign the UI and information architecture to improve usability, mature the youthful look, and upgrade the overall player experience.

As Redline Royale transitions from a mobile to a PC game, the UI calls for a facelift to account for larger screens and more complex controls.

MY ROLE

Evaluated 10–15 comparable PC games to identify key features worth carrying over, then redesigned the UI to incorporate them while staying true to the original mobile game. Prioritized simplified navigation, a clear CTA to play, easy profile/customization access, and microinteractions for surprise and delight.

Gritty, skate-culture infused, and built for fast readability–with a punk-rock, street-style edge that matches the vibe of the skateboarding world.

THE BEFORE
The original screens were a 1:1 to the mobile experience and did not make use of the larger real estate. The UI art direction was angular and lopsided, reflecting the bobblehead look of the player’s avatars. Typography was too simple and lacked personality while icons were misleading and not intuitive enough. Colors were dull and muted and did not invoke any excitement.

THE AFTER
I kept the essence of the original look and feel, using angled outlines for components. I added this aesthetic to the new typeface for a bold look that feels active and energetic. I brightened the colors and updated the icons for clarity.
